Youth Ministry

The Northlake Youth Ministry is a place of acceptance and friendship where teenagers are invited to discover Jesus and follow Him. If you are a 7th thru 12th grader looking for a place of belonging, a place to have fun, a place to be challenged, and a place where you can figure out who this Jesus character is and what He has in store for your life, then this church and our student group is for you!

The intangibles that define this group is a spirit of family and belonging, a heart to serve and care for others, as well as a desire to grow to be more like Jesus.  Character development and bonding opportunities include “Huddle Groups,” “Peace Playground,” service projects, and Teens in Mission Experience (TIME) trips.

SUNDAY AM
Huddle Groups
9:00- 10:00 AM
These are groups divided by grade who gather for conversation, learning, and life sharing.  We laugh with each other, bear each others burdens, and discover more about who God is calling us to be.  These groups are led by a couple of adults who are the Huddle Leaders for the year.  They are there to get to know you, lead and support you on your journey.

SUNDAY PM

XL 6:00 – 7:00 PM XL is a gathering for the whole youth group.  We meet every Sunday night in the NYM Teen Room.  It is a time of interactive discussions, prayer exercises, and life-shaping Bible studies for teens who are learning to live for Jesus.

WEDNESDAY – August to May
After School Tutoring
3:45 – 5:45 PM
Wednesdays allow students to put off the pressures of school and homework in order to spend some time helping others. Every week our group gathers to head over to Kristopher Woods apartment complex in Clarkston to help refugee children with their homework.  Afterwards we go grab a bite to eat and head to the Altar.

The Altar
7:00 – 8:00 PM
All students in our ministry gather on Wednesday nights for a time of prayer, reflection, and worship. We call this time The Altar because we are gathering in the presence of God to lay our lives, our fears, our dreams, our hurts down on the altar before Him as a sacrifice of worship.
