Kid’s Ministry is an important part of Northlake and is geared for newborns to 6th graders. It’s where we introduce our youngest children to Bible stories and watch them begin the process of growing in their faith. Kid’s Ministry brings families together through its activities, and you’ll see that no one is left out. Everyone finds a place to belong, and grow, as we show our children God’s love.
Our kids have a lot of fun in this group, but it’s not all about the games, crafts and puppets. We take seriously our responsibility to teach children about God. Our kids regularly memorize scripture and internalize the story of Jesus. As our kids learn how much God loves them, we want them to learn how to love others.
SUNDAY AM
9:00 AM (during adult classes)
Age and grade specific classes and nurseries are offered for children from newborns to 6th grade in our upstairs nurseries and downstairs kids classroom area.
10:15 AM (during Sunday morning worship)
We know it can be difficult to sit through worship with children, so we have volunteers who work to provide a safe and loving environment for our kids during the 10:15 am service.
Nursery
A staffed nursery is provided for infants, 0-2 years. A parent or guardian should pick up your child immediately following worship. Make sure to remember diapers, a change of clothing and a bottle or sippy cup and tell us if your child has any food allergies or special needs.
Training For Worship
2 years – Kindergarten
If you would like for your child to have a fun and age appropriate time of worship during the Sunday morning service, we have volunteers who provide a Training for Worship time downstairs.
Kid’s Message Time
Grades 1-6 (Room 202 – 203)
During Sunday morning worship, usually right before the sermon, we dismiss our kids in grades 1-6 to hear a story from the Bible, sing, and pray with Ike, our Associate Minister for our children.
Cry Room
If you prefer to keep your child with you during worship, there is a Cry Room to the right of the auditorium. Enter through the glass doors into the prayer room and continue through the door on the left to enter the Cry Room.
SUNDAY PM
6:00 – 7:00 PM
Joyful Noise – Downstairs
Joyful Noise is an opportunity for our children from ages three to six to sing, pray and listen to Bible stories through enthusiastic and fun worship. Joyful Noise is a kid favorite and is held downstairs from 6:00 – 7:00 pm every Sunday night. Sometimes you might see a puppet show or make a craft to take home, but each week will be engaging and your child will leave with a story to tell about how much fun they had in Joyful Noise.
Kids Praise is for 1st to 6th graders on Sunday nights.
WEDNESDAY
7:00 – 8:00 PM
Age and grade specific classes are offered on Wednesdays and songs and stories from the Bible are used to show God’s love and watch our kids grow.
Everybody has summer camp memories from when they were younger. Leaving home for a week, spending time outside, sleeping in a cabin and making new friends. In our Kid’s Ministry at Northlake, we offer a once a year getaway to Anniston, Alabama for five fun filled days of kid heaven. Many adults, teens and college students volunteer during this week as we learn Bible stories, discover our inner artist through crafts, cool off in the pool and rock slide as well as share nightly group activities. We are sure your child will leave our camp with a lot of memories, new friends, and a deeper knowledge of God and the way He is working in our lives.
