The journey of grief should not be walked alone.
Winter/Spring 2017 SUPPORT GROUP
January 22 – May 7, Sundays 5:00 to 7:00pm
GriefShare is a recovery program that supports those needing care from the pain that follows the loss of a loved one. We grieve because we have loved. The Christ-centered journey draws from God’s Word, from professional counselors on video and from the shared experiences of participants who comfort one another as they walk the journey together. As one participant said, “We have cried, laughed, and shared together and grown in healthy ways.”
The 13 sessions build on one another, but each can stand alone and focuses on a helpful theme. For this reason, the program works as an “emergency room” and any grieving person is welcomed to enter for solace. The professional DVDs provide insights from experts, the Workbook provides daily reflections and encouragement, and the support group assures us that we are not alone.
The 2017 sessions meet Sundays from 5:00 – 7:00pm on the first floor of the Northlake educational building. To participate, please contact Doris Clark <firstname.lastname@example.org>, 770-414-0375, Ex 11. You may also register online at GriefShare.org. The fee is $25. GriefShare offers extensive resources, including how to find support groups that meet in other cities or states. The experienced Northlake leadership team is here to share your journey from mourning to joy.
