GriefShare Ministry

GriefShare is an “emergency room” for those needing care for the pain that comes from the loss of a loved one.  The Christ-centered program brings comfort by drawing from God’s Word, the expertise of counseling professionals, and the shared experiences of participants who have walked the journey from mourning to joy.

Northlake Church hosts a GriefShare Recovery Group and offers a safe place to process the deep hurt of loss.    When someone you love dies, everything changes.  Grief recovery needs more than time; companionship is important for the journey.   As one participant said, “We have cried, laughed, shared and grown in healthy ways.”

Each of the 13 sessions is “self-contained” and has three components:  the professional DVDs provide insights from experts and those who have walked through loss,  the daily Workbook guides reflection, and group sharing facilitates companionship.

The fall 2013 sessions of GriefShare, begin on August 11 and meet from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday evenings in the Northlake educational building.    If you would like to participate in this cycle of sessions, please contact Northlake’s Care Minister, Doris Clark  <doris@northlake.org>, 770-414-0375, Ex 11.
