Sharing God’s Comfort

God always does more than we can think or imagine!  Barbara Porter and I prayed and planned for the new Grief Recovery Group that began Sunday evening January 8.  We anticipated a group of 7-8 participants based on pre-registration and interest contacts.  This number doubled as hurting people arrived looking for support through a time of grief.

“Grief is the price you pay for loving someone,” says Zig Zigler, author and motivational speaker, who suffered the loss of a daughter.   He along with Christian counselors and therapists share their experiences and lessons learned in very effective professional videos that are a part of the GriefShare sessions.  GriefShare is a Christ centered and Bible based program designed to help hurting people in their “journey from mourning to joy.”  We have seen the blessing of this ministry in the lives of ourselves and others.   The program www.griefshare.org may help you or someone you know even in another city or state.

We ask the elders and the church to pray for God’s comfort for those who come to us with breathtakingly fresh loss and for healing for each person who is working through the ache and void in their lives.   The support group meets each Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Forum.
